Sunday morning a group of students met at Chabad where a bus was waiting to bring them to Ostia Antica or Ancient Ostia, a Roman city discovered by archeologists and where 70 years ago a 2000-year-old Synagogue was uncovered, the oldest one in Europe.
Once the group arrived at Ostia, the tour guide was waiting to explain the history of the city and at the end of the visit, light refreshment was offered.
The highlight of the visit was the synagogue where one of the students donned Tefillin and recited the Shemà.
The students enjoyed this opportunity that was made possible thanks to KSpace, an organization that has its mission to offer Jewish experiences to students.
