Rome had the honor to host one of the heroes of “Operation Thunderbolt” that took place at Entebbe in Uganda.
Rami Sherman, the official of operations during the mission, spoke for over two hours with a brief translation to Italian by Rabbi Lazar.
Mr. Sherman, started sharing his story this past year, on the 40th anniversary of the mission, he shared his personal experience and his feelings that moved the participants.
Miss Lucrezia Colmayer, the Councillor for the Memory of the II Municipality of Rome, participated and thanked Chabad for organizing the event.
Rabbi Lazar concluded with the connection of the Jewish world and the Lubavitcher Rebbe to the mission, explaining the importance of the commandment of the Mezuzah and the divine intervention that enabled the mission.
Following the event, Mr. Sherman, dinned at the Little Tripoli restaurant and continue sharing his experience.
