Shabbat and Holidays candle lighting times

This page is also available in: Italian Hebrew

The Mitzvah of lighting Shabbat and Yom Tov candles brings the light of the holiday to shine in our homes. This Mitzvah was strongly encouraged by the Lubavitcher Rebbe who started a campaign that every Jewish woman from the age of 3 or whenever they could understand, should light the candles on friday night before sunset.

Chabad Piazza Bologna together with Chabad Monteverde print each year thousands of magnets with the times of Shabbat, holidays and fasts that are distributed for free in all the shuls and Kosher establishments. The magnets are exposed prominently in thousands of Jewish homes in Rome and are sponsored by the various Kosher stores and restaurants of Rome who publicize their business on them.

The publicity adds to the usefulness of the magnet that serves as a reference for Kosher food. Additionally the contact information of the various Chabad centers and of the Mikvaot of Rome is also featured.

Chabad also publicizes each week the times on the social media and receives many inquiries for times in various cities.
