Chanukah is a holiday of light and joy, Chabad in Piazza Bologna erected, as in the past years, the iconic giant Chanukiah in the center of the square, the main event was on the seventh night of Chanukah, Saturday night, with a special Chanukia made of ice, music and various types of refreshments like doughnuts, sushi, cookies, etc…
The President of the 2nd Municipio of Rome, which includes also the area of Piazza Bologna, Mr. Giuseppe Gerace, spoke about the freedom of religion, Rabbi Itzchak Hazan, director of Chabad Rome thanked Rabbi Lazar for all his wonderful work. Various supporters of Chabad lit the giant Chanukiah while the children lit the ice Chanukia.
Each night of Chanukah the giant Chanukia was lit by a different family, being the first and the last night of Chanukah on a Sunday, the crowd was very large, but each night Rabbi Lazar offered doughnuts to all the participants.

Rabbi Lazar also organized for a lighting at Terminal 5 of the Fiumicino airport by invitation of the El Al security personnel, the passengers and the staff were left very inspired.
Thanks to the availability of Daruma Sushi, the monthly class of Rabbi Lazar with local Jewish teens took place on Chanukah followed by sushi “all you can eat”.
Rabbi Lazar also participated at two Chanukah parties organized by students, one by the Israeli Student Organization, and one at the LUISS University, where he spoke about Chanukah and lit the Chanukia.
