For the eight nights of Chanukah, Piazza Bologna, the central square in the Jewish neighborhood of Rome was lit with the giant Chanukah Menorah for the eighth year in a row.
Thanks to the permits granted by the local Municipality, each night another family celebrated Chanukah at the square, while others followed live on Facebook, with music and individually wrapped doughnuts respecting all the covid rules.
On the last night of Chanukah, the president and the vice-president of the local Municipality attended and brought greetings from the Municipality.
The Menorah was guarded 24/7 by the Italian army who even sent a Jewish soldier.
